Our client is currently resourcing for an experienced Maintenance Engineer reporting to the Site Manager, who can facilitate the maintenance and development of plant and machinery along with the general upkeep of the premises.

As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be required to assist the Management team in achieving and maintaining production plans by ensuring that local services and production machinery are maintained and developed to the required standard, with a view to achieving a preventative maintenance program.

Being reliant upon delivering excellent levels of production, the smooth running and continued development of plant and equipment is a fundamental but vital task for the successful Maintenance Engineer. You should have a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret drawings and work instructions quickly and efficiently. Being an "all-rounder", you will be able to turn your hand to most tasks including woodwork, painting and decorating and will have an advanced ability to use portable power tools safely and skilfully. Milling (horizontal and vertical), turning, grinding, fitting and welding will also play a part in your busy working day.

With sound experience in electrical and electronic installations coupled with fault finding, as well as motor drive fault diagnosis and replacement including PSU's and extraction systems, trouble shooting is often necessary and demands effective application at production problem solving.

Equally important is the setting and maintenance of the boilers, compressors and pumps along with the setting of machinery, fire, sprinkler and security systems, installation and commissioning.

You will be responsible for fault diagnosis to enable the identification of required parts and thereafter be able to specify, source and order those parts and alternative replacement parts (subject to an approval procedure). This resourcing must be completed using all available resources (i.e. internet, suppliers, etc) therefore an ability to use IT packages is essential.

You must be a good team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills ensuring that production and effectiveness is maintained at a consistently high level by the use of sound communication practices, thus ensuring that all necessary works and machine downtime are completed to fit in with the production plan.

With such an important and key role to play, you will indirectly manage cost centres by actively optimising spend and cost cutting where appropriate and will be expected to support all training and development initiatives with a view to facilitating a consistent and efficient production line.

Good communications with Management Team ensure that good 'cover' and 'additional' services are timely and efficient.
Good communications with Management Team ensure that spares stock and replacement parts are specified and ordered in good time to maximise factory productivity in line with Cost Centre Spends.
