Electrical Design Engineer - Inspection Systems

Our Client is a world leading integrated energy services company and works in a variety of regulated industries including oil and gas, petrochemical, industrial, electrical, electronic, automotive and communications.

The Role

The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible to the Head of Design, to produce concept and detailed Electrical designs related to equipment and machinery for the company's complete range of products, and specifically for the design of equipment for custom applications.

The Electrical Design Engineer position will possess the following skills, knowledge and expertise:

* Co-ordinate electro-mechanical system requirements with the Head of Design/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.
* Produce electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
* Calculate electrical requirements for the equipment for machinery requirements.
* Identify and select most economical and suitable proprietary equipment to fulfill the specified product requirement.
* Issue detailed design drawings for manufacture.
* Develop operational control concepts for process equipment.
* Identify appropriate PLC device based on specified requirements. Produce PLC code documentation.
* Produce code drawings for presentations to customers.
* Maintain revision control of documentations, drawings and parts lists in accordance with company procedures.
* Responsible for inherent safety of the mechanical design. Input to design risk assessments for all equipment design.
* Produce or contribute to operation and maintenance manuals, especial for control systems.
* Resolve design problems found during manufacturing and assembly.

A key component of the Electrical Design Engineer role is an extensive knowledge of the industry, technical expertise, excellent interpersonal skills, strong communications skills both written and oral, strategic and analytical thinking, planning and financial control skills, team builder.
